Our client, a leading Aerospace manufacturer, are recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team in Farnborough. This role is crucial in optimising the businesses manufacturing processes, ensuring quality standards, and supporting efficient production within a dynamic aerospace environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, ideally within the aerospace sector, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development: Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and methods to achieve high standards of quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Tooling & Fixturing: Collaborate on the design and implementation of tooling and fixtures to support production needs.

  • Production Support: Provide ongoing support for daily production activities, ensuring smooth operations and timely issue resolution.

  • Data Analysis: Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement, enhance efficiency, and maintain quality standards.

  • Project Management: Lead and support medium- and long-term projects aimed at optimising production and meeting customer requirements.

  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements, participating in external and internal audits as needed.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive best-in-class standards through Right First Time (RFT) principles and maintain quality standards and documentation.

  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with external vendors and suppliers to ensure their adherence to quality and process requirements.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

  • Welding, fabrication, or metal forming experience is advantageous.

  • Background in aerospace manufacturing is preferred.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and CAD software (e.g., Catia, SolidWorks).

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, APQP/PPAP methodologies, and quality control tools.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills with an ability to collaborate across teams.

    Working Hours:

  • Standard hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 12:00pm on Friday (39 hours/week).

  • Occasional travel to other UK sites, customers, and suppliers may be required
