NPI Engineer

Filtronic is an award-winning company, designing and manufacturing world-leading RF, microwave and millimetre-wave (mmWave) solutions for demanding applications, principally across the space and defence sectors.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for anNPI Engineer to join our high-performing Manufacturing Engineering team. Reporting to the Lead NPI Engineer, you will support the introduction of new RF and microwave products into manufacturing, helping ensure they can be produced efficiently, consistently and to the required quality standards.

Working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Production, Test and Quality, you'll be involved in taking products from prototype through to production, helping resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturing processes along the way.

Please note: The internal job title for this position is Manufacturing Engineer (NPI). NPI Engineer is the external job title we use to reflect the role within the wider engineering community.

You'll support the introduction of new products into manufacturing and help develop processes that are reliable, repeatable and suitable for production.

Working alongside the Lead NPI Engineer and wider engineering teams, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting NPI activities from prototype build through to production release.
• Developing and improving manufacturing processes for new RF and microwave products.
• Contributing to Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities.
• Reviewing and analysing RF test data to help improve product performance and manufacturing yield.
• Investigating manufacturing and RF performance issues and helping identify practical solutions.
• Supporting production ramp-up and continuous improvement activities.
• Assisting with the design and introduction of manufacturing tooling and fixtures.
• Preparing and maintaining manufacturing procedures, technical documentation and engineering reports.
