About the role

EEI is looking for an Engineering Quality Co-ordinator to keep its Engineering Quality Management System running smoothly and improving, within the company’s AS9100 framework. You’ll co-ordinate quality assurance across the engineering and maintenance teams, making sure processes, records and outputs meet regulatory, customer and internal requirements. That covers keeping quality records, supporting audits and corrective actions, tracking performance data and encouraging consistent, compliant ways of working, both in the office and with engineering teams on deployment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Running the Engineering Quality Management System day to day, in line with EEI’s AS9100 framework and the relevant RPAS requirements

  • Looking after quality records, registers, procedures, work instructions and supporting documents, and making sure they are current, controlled and easy to access

  • Helping engineering and maintenance staff understand regulatory, customer and company quality requirements and apply them

  • Planning and co-ordinating internal audits, inspections and assurance activity, including gathering evidence and following up on findings

  • Logging non-conformities, corrective and preventative actions and improvement opportunities, and tracking each one until its closure is verified

  • Building and maintaining quality metrics and KPIs, and reporting trends, overdue actions and emerging risks to the Head of Engineering

  • Supporting the quality of work done by deployed engineering teams, so that approved processes are followed in remote and fast-changing environments

  • Co-ordinating the documents, evidence and actions needed for external audits, certification work, customer assurance reviews and regulatory engagement

  • Working with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Compliance, suppliers and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues and drive continual improvement

  • Travelling occasionally and working flexibly when operational or assurance work needs it

What we’re looking for

  • A Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, aviation, maintenance, quality management or a related field, or equivalent experience you can demonstrate

  • Hands-on experience in a regulated engineering, aviation or aerospace setting, or a similarly controlled environment

  • A working understanding of quality management systems, document control, audit support and corrective action processes

  • Experience of keeping accurate records, registers, metrics and objective evidence

  • An understanding of engineering and maintenance practices

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100, internal auditor training or a relevant quality qualification

  • Aviation or RPAS experience

  • Experience of supporting teams that are spread across different locations or deployed

Why EEI?

EEI provides RPAS capability, training and operational services to commercial, government and defence customers in the UK and abroad. You’ll gain real engineering experience and access to professional development, in a supportive team where new ideas are encouraged. It’s a chance to help shape where uncrewed aviation goes next.

What you’ll get

  • 28 days’ paid annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays

  • Private medical and dental insurance, paid for by the company

  • Death in service cover at 3x salary

  • Employer contributions to a group personal pension

  • Employer contributions to a salary sacrifice pension scheme

  • Travel insurance for business trips

  • Training specific to your role, paid for by the company, plus financial support for professional development

  • Tax-efficient cycle to work scheme

  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice car leasing, available once you’ve passed probation

  • Discounts at high street retailers

Security requirements

Some parts of this role mean the successful candidate must hold UK nationality. They may also need to pass National Security Vetting, which can include criminal record, security service and credit reference checks. Vetting normally requires at least 5 years’ residency in the UK.
