Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £15.00 - £15.50 per hour / £28,860 - £29,822 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4pm & Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm

We are recruiting for a Wirer on a permanent basis to join a leading manufacturer who design and manufacture products for the Avionics and Defence industry.

Working out of a purpose built modern, state of the art facilities you will be part of a hardworking, friendly and dedicated team working on the Assembly of new, prototype and serviceable high value products for various Avionics and Defence Solutions.

Within this role you will be working on small units, undertaking the wiring and assembly of these ensuring that you are working to work instructions.

Duties will include;

  • Wiring of small units

  • Some of the work will be under microscopic lenses

  • Intricate soldering

  • Crimping of wires and attaching connectors

  • Testing of products

  • Working to drawings or manufacturing instructions

  • Using hand tools

  • Using a computer to do basic product testing and recording results

  • Running basic testing

  • Excellent attention to detail is paramount for this position.

    The successful candidate will possess;

  • Experienced in undertaking wiring, either in a production, manufacturing environment or as part of a network or telecoms role

  • Electronics experience is advantageous, either if that is through education, qualifications or practical experience

  • Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications

  • Able to use multi meters or any other test equipment to undertaking functional tests
