You will ensure the successful delivery, supporting multiple corporate and satellite sites, and coordinate with peers and supporting teams to execute projects with efficiency and technical excellence.

This is a leadership role, requiring this individual to take accountability for the performance of all resources under their purview. Success is assessed by the quantity, technical quality, and market performance of websites produced as by the feedback from key stakeholders and company leadership. You will play a key role in partnering with leadership to create a high-performing web team capable of maintaining and improving enterprise web properties. The focus is on project delivery and operational excellence within a structured and scalable framework.

While this role is strategic in nature and requires a strong business mindset and intellect, it is very much a production role where the majority of time will be spend building and leading junior developers with hands-on involvement. With a successful team-building effort, over time the position may evolve into more of a supervisory role focused more completely on strategy.

Candidates under consideration should be prepared to complete a technical screening and evaluation as part of the interview process.

Full details on the role are below:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and actively participate in front-end and back-end development, ensuring high-quality code and technical delivery across client-facing website experiences, including corporate properties and customer-specific landing pages.
  • Write, review, and maintain clean, scalable code across multiple web properties, ensuring performance optimization and security.
  • Collaborate with developers on designing solutions for complex technical challenges, offering hands-on expertise during development.
  • Manage code repositories using Git, ensuring proper version control, branching, and merging processes.
  • Implement and optimize APIs for performance and scalability, while ensuring seamless integrations with third-party services.
  • Lead development sprints and manage the technical aspects of project timelines, delivering on-time and within scope.
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve technical issues that arise during the development cycle, offering hands-on support where necessary.
  • Balance day-to-day project management with hands-on coding, ensuring consistent progress across development efforts.
  • Assist in team prioritization and driving projects to completion on predictable timelines.
  • Work closely with the team to maintain site performance, ensuring continuous uptime and optimizing for load times and user experience.
  • Provide technical leadership in ensuring compliance with security, performance, and version control best practices.
  • Implement and manage a rigorous QA process that is well-documented and efficient in meeting project timelines.

The ideal Web Design Engineer will have:

  • Proven experience in team and technical project management within web development, with hands-on front and back-end capabilities.
  • Expertise in CMS’s such as Drupal, WordPress, and HubSpot.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams. Experience working within Monday.com or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Git and other code repositories is essential for managing version control, collaboration, and efficient workflows.
  • Technical expertise and understanding of API creation, hosting, security, and performance optimization.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and project expectations.
  • Ability to work and function within an asynchronous and autonomous environment
  • Knowledge of compliance standards, vendor management, and technical SEO best practices.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing enterprise web projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or Digital Marketing Preferred

The following certifications would be beneficial:

Veterans in Space: A Military‑to‑Civilian Pathway into UK Space‑Industry Careers

Introduction Space is no longer the exclusive domain of superpowers—it’s a booming commercial arena. The 2024 UK Space Sector Report values the domestic industry at £17.5 billion, with the Government’s National Space Strategy committing £1.4 billion to launch sites, secure communications, and next‑generation navigation constellations. Defence intersects heavily: Skynet 6, Titania (space‑based quantum comms), and the UK Space Command’s responsive‑launch mandate all need skilled professionals. Military veterans bring mission focus, security clearance, and technical prowess—qualities the space sector craves. If you’ve maintained satellite uplinks on operations, guided aircraft via GPS under EW threat, or monitored ballistic trajectories, you already think in orbital mechanics and space situational awareness. This guide shows you how to leverage MoD transition programmes, translate military experience, and secure rewarding roles—from launch‑pad technician to satellite analyst—in Britain’s burgeoning space economy. Rural-Remote Space Jobs: Reaching for the Stars Beyond City Limits

A Fresh Horizon for UK Space Professionals When most people think of space industry jobs, their minds drift to launch pads in Florida, sophisticated mission controls at NASA, or even satellite facilities in the heart of London. However, the space sector is increasingly decentralised and offers abundant opportunities across the UK—well beyond the capital. At UKSpaceJobs.co.uk, we’ve observed a surge in vacancies that allow for rural or coastal living, prompting jobseekers to search for “space jobs in the countryside” or “tech jobs by the sea.” A variety of factors—rising remote work, cloud-based engineering tools, and demand for diverse local test sites—are fuelling this movement. Britain’s beautiful rural and seaside regions no longer represent peripheral backwaters for the space sector. Instead, they host emerging launch sites, small satellite enterprises, research hubs, and remote teams that keep pace with the nation’s growing ambitions in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), deep-space missions, and Earth observation technologies. If you’re a satellite engineer, an astro-data analyst, or a space project manager craving fresh air and lower living costs, this article is for you. Below, we’ll explore how rural-remote space roles are exploding in popularity, the specific benefits (and potential hurdles) of working outside major cities, and the practical steps you can take to launch your space career amidst rolling hills or ocean vistas.
