Job Title: Vehicle Efficiency Engineer
Employment Type: Contract, 12 Months (with extension) Department: Advanced Propulsion Systems
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire (Hybrid Working - typically 3 days on-site)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a junior Propulsion Efficiency Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. This role is focused on the continuous development and yearly updates of our lineup of vehicles with combustion engines, including ICE, MHEV, and PHEV programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Propulsion Efficiency attribute, with a specific focus on Fuel Economy for complex and specific international markets such as Japan, Gulf States, Mexico, and Brazil. You will play a key role in data analysis, target support, and regulatory compliance, contributing throughout the entire vehicle development cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support Lead Engineers in the definition of robust Propulsion Efficiency targets.
• Support the delivery of Propulsion Efficiency attribute targets (Fuel Economy, Hybrid Range) for various Model Year and Vehicle Line programmes.
• Keep internal tools and documents up to date with the latest attribute metrics.
• Analyse test data to generate comprehensive attribute status reports and create meaningful comparisons with historic and competitor data.
•Calculate robust declarable metrics in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support virtual and physical vehicle level testing and development activities. • Interface with Powertrain Product Squads, Homologation and Certification Teams, and Vehicle Engineering Teams as required.

Essential Skills & Experience:
• A 1st Degree in Automotive Engineering or a relevant equivalent discipline.
• A fundamental understanding of the physics behind vehicle efficiency, cycle energy demand, and PHEV electric range (academic knowledge is acceptable). • Significant, proven working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, interpret, and write technical requirements and standards.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
• Must be based within a commutable distance of Gaydon, Warwickshire, and able to arrange own travel.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
• Direct experience in vehicle fuel economy declarations and certification processes.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of statistics.
• Experience in a similar automotive engineering role
