About your team: 

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

Join Centrica's IT Security Team asThreat & Vulnerability Analyst!

Centrica is seeking a motivatedThreat & Vulnerability Analystto join our Cyber Defence team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing security threats and vulnerabilities using a variety of security tools. If you are passionate about cybersecurity and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Location: Hybrid (occasional travel to the office)

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct vulnerability assessments and threat analyses using security tools and threat intelligence.

Monitor and respond to emerging threat intelligence and vulnerabilities, collaborating with stakeholders and business units across Centrica.

Utilize Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools to enhance endpoint protection.

Manage and triage findings from various security tools.

Document vulnerabilities, remediation efforts, and manage security incidents.

Analyze security data and provide insights to wider teams, including cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Infrastructure/External Attack Surface Management).

Stay updated on industry trends and attacker techniques.

Collaborate with our threat-informed defence functions to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in cybersecurity, focusing on threat and vulnerability management.

Relevant cybersecurity certifications preferred and a strong understanding of security frameworks and standards.

Experience with Penetration testing

Hands-on experience with security tools, including but not limited to vulnerability management tools, EDR, NDR, SIEM, Qualys etc

Proactive mindset and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Strong team player.

Enthusiastic

Desirable Attributes:

Experience with additional security tools.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.

Knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure).
