WHAT TO EXPECT

Join us as a Test Coordination Engineer - Power Electronics, where you'll play a crucial role in managing relationships with external suppliers, focusing on inverters and power electronics. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee suppliers' test plans, ensuring they comply with all required standards. This will involve regular negotiations and clear communication to address any issues related to failures and ensure timely delivery of parts.

In this role, you'll also collaborate with software & system test specialists to enhance outcomes by defining & delivering further testing at JLR. This includes overlay checking of hardware, software and system, and support issue investigation for inverters on Electric Drive Units (EDUs) fitted onto rigs and vehicles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and production release phases for Power Electronic components. Ensure that any required new test methods are created and released in a timely manner.
  • Plan and track tests using X-Ray (JIRA-based test manager) alongside Enovia TRM, supported by the 'Global Test Platform' for standardized processes and tools.
  • Aid the test facility (operations) team by ensuring rig interfaces to the component are documented and that the test content is clear and plausible for rig operation and capability.
  • Mentor and coordinate the test team, including junior engineers and apprentices, some of whom will be working from different locations and time zones.
  • Maintain ongoing negotiations with suppliers to monitor their actions and progress, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently, leading to improved performance and reliability in manufacturing operations.
