TheHexcel Early Career Programis a highly coveted rotational program, designed to give participants the opportunity to gain valuable experience and receive wide exposure to the different Hexcel business functions. This exposure occurs through coordinated placements which provide unique and impactful experiences within the participants’ designated function. Participants may also get the opportunity to travel to different locations within Europe to gain insight into related functions in several Hexcel plants. This Strategic Research Scientist role will be based in Duxford, UK.

Hexcel is currently seeking anTechnical Support Engineer – Hexcel Early Career Programfor ourDuxford, UKlocation.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Provide technical support to Northern European customers covering all aspects of Hexcel products, processes and technical marketing communications. To have a broad knowledge of a defined range of products, test procedures, production processes and composite part manufacturing methods. Deliver practical and technical support to the Technical Support, Qualification and Quality departments on internal and external projects.  Generate material test data to establish performance characteristics of Hexcel products and document these data and performance conclusions to support customer qualifications (Year 1). To manage quality department technical projects and investigations, including adhesives, prepregs, films and honeycombs (Year 2).

Qualifications:

BSc Hons (or higher) in a chemical, polymer, material science or engineering discipline. Willing and able to relocate, and travel/work with international colleagues and customers. Experience with composite material production, applications and composite processing or composite materials testing will be advantageous. High level of team working, project management and communication skills with a hands-on approach to laboratory work, data analysis and report writing.
