Responsibilities 

Lead a team of professionals based in Northampton, the UK and across the world Deliver planning, design and construction services for Local Government clients across the UK Be the Project Manager for a diverse set of schemes and services Work with Directors to secure further commissions that support your own, your team members and our business ambitions

YOUR TEAM

Your projects range from designing new highway infrastructure for developments to major sustainable transport improvements Your clients are the many UK Local Authority framework commissions complemented by expanding relationships with other local and national agencies This role reports to the Northampton Office Lead Your team is currently four Engineers in the UK supported by remote resources in India with expectations of significant growth this year – this worldwide representation brings a diverse culture to your team Specific development opportunities include progression to higher grades within the WSP Communities and Mobility business as the team grows over the coming months The Northampton office is in the Brackmills business park on the edge of town with direct access to the A45 and M1, a short bus ride from Northampton Rail Station or using the adjacent ‘Norbital’ cycle route

Qualifications 

Experience of leading and managing a professional engineering design team Experience of UK local authority highway engineering delivery from concept to operation Experience of UK planning policies, processes and standards Ability to understand technical, legal and safety requirements Ability to prepare and present technical reports to senior managers, clients and stakeholders Good working knowledge of Health & Safety including CDM Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or significant relatable experience Professional membership and qualification with relevant institution or working towards these
