Job Title: Systems Design Integrator

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 Days a week in the office

They will be reporting to the Chief Mechanical Engineer and will provide sound knowledge in Systems Design Integration, being responsible for and having knowledge in problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, physical & functional systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; verifying products, physical & functional systems, and components throughout the product lifecycle.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, a minimum of three days per week.

What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for authoring, reviewing, and verifying Marine and Mechanical designs for power distribution systems; you will:

• Design of systems using Systems Engineering principals including the use of Robust Design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.

• Problem resolution experience including ownership of, for example: root cause investigations, problem reports, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs). Dealing with ambiguity.

• Applying knowledge of the importance of determining, managing & flowing system level requirements.

• Planning and management of product change, design technical approval and technical investigations.

• Verifying that the system meets the requirements and ownership of standardisation reports.

• Good inter-personal and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with and influence all levels including the customer.

• Work with and co-ordinate extended (i.e. not necessarily co-located) multi-disciplinary teams.

Be educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline with experience in design techniques.

• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and understand crossdiscipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.

• An ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.

• Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks.

• Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation.

It would be advantageous if you:

• Are professionally registered as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or be working towards gaining a professional status.

• Have knowledge and experience in the use of Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

• Are experienced in designing equipment to operate to naval, military, or similar environmental or regulatory standards.
