As Sustainability Advisor you will be pivotal in driving MARCH’s sustainability strategy and have responsibility for developing and implementing sustainability plans that align with our strategic goals and regulatory requirements. You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, identify opportunities for energy and waste reduction and promote sustainable practices among internal and external stakeholders. By guiding us towards sustainable operations, you will enhance our long-term profitability, reputation and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Creating and implementing sustainability plans that align with MARCH’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Managing the day-to-day implementation of sustainability initiatives

Ensuring MARCH complies with environmental regulations and standards.

Identifying opportunities for reducing energy usage and waste, leading to cost savings and improved operational efficiency.

Raising awareness and promoting sustainability practices among internal and external stakeholders.

Tracking the progress of sustainability initiatives, such as the switch over to electrical vehicles and delivery of the energy usage reduction action plans, and reporting on their effectiveness.

Providing guidance and expertise to our customers on their own sustainability practices and net zero journeys.

Continuously seeking out new methods and technologies to enhance MARCH’s sustainability efforts.

Overseeing the preparation and presentation of comprehensive sustainability reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Providing various training sessions and awareness workshops to educate employees on sustainability practices and their importance.

Skills and Experiences:

Understand the basic principles of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic dimensions.

Familiarity with environmental laws, regulations and standards relevant to the industry.

Ability to analyse data and trends to identify sustainability opportunities and challenges.

Ability to develop innovative solutions to sustainability issues and implement effective strategies.

Clearly convey sustainability concepts and practices to diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Manage sustainability projects from inception to completion and ensure they meet objectives and deadlines.

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to promote and support sustainability initiatives.

Understand the of tools and technologies used in sustainability practices, such as emissions reporting platforms, energy management systems and waste reduction techniques.

Inspire and motivate others to adopt sustainable practices and drive change within the organization.

Stay updated with the latest sustainability trends, research and best practices to continually improve and innovate.

Specific Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, Earth Science, Environmental Studies or a related discipline.

Additional certifications in sustainability practices, environmental management or energy efficiency can be advantageous.
