Quality Engineer – Supplier Focused | Aerospace & Defence Sector
UK based with travel across the UK & Europe

Join a high impact team that plays a critical role in ensuring world class quality in complex engineering supply chains. We’re looking for a driven Quality Engineer with a passion for precision, supplier development, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:



Be the customer’s eyes onsite, carry out inprocess and final inspections at supplier locations.

Conduct product release inspections before goods leave the supplier to confirm everything meets spec.

*

Review and verify compliance against engineering drawings, technical standards, and customer requirements.

*

Keep clear, auditable records of inspections, non-conformities, and release documentation.

*

Lead or support root cause investigations and help implement effective corrective actions.

*

Help suppliers grow, support qualification processes, audits, and performance reviews to raise standards.

*

Work closely with internal teams to support product testing, documentation, and quality improvement projects.

*

Provide guidance to newer team members and help demystify complex issues with clear, concise communication.

*

Feed supplier quality insights into broader strategy discussions with stakeholders.

*

Expect some UK and European travel as part of this supplier focused role.

*

Pitch in with in-house inspection activities as needed.

What You Bring:

*

Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Quality Engineering.

*

Lead Auditor certification to ISO 9001 minimum. ISO 14001 / 45001 are a definite plus.

*

Hands-on experience in manufacturing or supplier quality engineering.

*

Familiarity with quality tools like APQP, PPAP, 8D, RCCA, DFMEA, PFMEA, and SPC.

*

Strong ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specs.

*

Excellent problem solving instincts and attention to detail.

*

Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with great organisational skills.

*

Experience working with large OEMs in aerospace, defence, or similar regulated sectors is advantageous.

*

Previous involvement in supplier development and advanced quality planning is welcomed.

Please note: You must be eligible for relevant security clearance for this role.
