Stress Engineer, Aircraft F&DT

Belcan has an exciting opportunity for a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join the Wing Analysis Engineering team at Filton.

You will join a team of Structural Engineers who are a mixture of technical specialists and engineering leads who are all passionate about finding technical solutions to support AIRBUS products Wings. They have a vast wealth of knowledge and experience and can help you grow technically and personally within this role.

This role offers more flexibility to work on most of the AIRBUS product Wings; from Incremental developments in Single Aisle and Widebody programmes, to cost saving and continuous airworthiness modifications. The team touches nearly all aspects of the Product Development Plan (PDP) from feasibility studies to certification and occurrences once the product has entered service.

Responsibilities

Approve F&DT deliverables and lead the resolution of F&DT problems through the use of appropriate methods
Responsible for the technical scope of assigned projects and tasks
Contribute to engineering solutions and ways of working using your experience in aerospace, other industries or research environments
Support the development of less experienced team members on both technical and behavioural aspects

Skill Set

Essential

Experience and know-how of structures engineering and analytical techniques
Good knowledge of overall aircraft structural design principles and techniques
Hold or be close to holding approval signatory in F&DT analysis
Ability to step back and propose new ideas
Studied engineering and have a structural analysis background, particularly fatigue and damage toleranceYou will need to be able to communicate easily in English. You will work in a diverse and multi-national environment, other languages and experience of a wide range of cultures is therefore beneficial.

You MUST have the 'Current Right to Work in the UK' and have a background that will enable you to be Security Cleared to BPSS Level.
