About us

The Royal Over-Seas League is a not-for-profit institution founded in 1910, dedicated to promoting international friendship, an ethos which binds our global membership. ROSL runs a ROSL Arts programme, promoting young musicians and artists, including a prestigious Annual Music Competition which is 72 years old. ROSL has a beautiful Grade I listed clubhouse in the heart of St. Jamess, London, and a lively programme of events including concerts, art exhibitions, a public affairs series and fine food and wine occasions.

Overview

This is a very exciting time to be joining the ROSL team as we have a newly refurbished main kitchen and in addition, we are currently delighting members with our summer menus in our wonderful al fresco dining operation in our beautiful garden overlooking Green Park.

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, and within the limits of ROSLs policies and procedures your main role is to ensure a high standard of food production and service as agreed at briefings, and in line with the departmental standards.

You will assist the Senior Chefs in developing new menu and dish ideas, in agreement with Executive Chef, and undertake ongoing training for all junior kitchen team members.

You will work across all of our Kitchens at ROSL including the main kitchen, Brabourne kitchen, garden kitchen, event kitchens and satellite kitchens and staff canteen depending on the needs of the business.

You are also responsible for ensuring food safety standards are continuously followed and maintained within the kitchens.

Your role will involve effective leadership, teamwork, coordination and communication within the Kitchen team as well as with all other departments at ROSL, specifically the Events Sales, Events Operations and Food & Beverage departments.

  • Previous experience in a similar role and environment

  • Ability to react positively under pressure and multi-task in a busy environment

  • Extensive knowledge of health & safety and food safety
