Location:Broughton, Wales
Salary:£45K-£55K pa + Benefits
Hours:37 hours per week

QHSE Manager - The Role:
The QHSE Manager role oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures designed to promote safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations.
QHSE Manager - Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Tooling Project Manager has the following roles and responsibilities across multiple aligned programmes.
Quality Management:
Maintain the Company's quality management systems (QMS) according to ISO9001 and EN 9100 standards specific quality requirements.
Monitor production and operational processes to meet quality standards.
Perform audits, inspections, and reviews of quality processes, identifying areas for improvement.
Perform root cause analyses and corrective action processes for quality issues, maintaining strict adherence to EN 9100 guidelines.
Health & Safety Management:
Establish and enforce health and safety protocols in compliance with ISO 45001 to minimize workplace risks.
Conduct risk assessments and identify safety hazards in aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and operational environments.
Lead safety training sessions focused on aerospace hazards, safe material handling, and equipment operation.
Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
Environmental Management:
Maintain and monitor an ISO 14001-compliant environmental management system (EMS) to address the environmental impact.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for emissions, waste management, and resource use specific to the aerospace sector.
Conduct environmental audits and assessments, identify areas for improvement, and promote sustainability initiatives within the organization.
Implement energy conservation and waste reduction strategies to align with both regulatory requirements and the company's sustainability goals.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
Ensure the company complies with all relevant local, national, and international regulations regarding QHSE.
Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry standards, adapting company policies as necessary.
Maintain records and prepare reports required by regulatory authorities.
Training and Employee Development:
Conduct regular training sessions on quality standards, health and safety protocols, and environmental awareness.
Train employees on emergency response, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation procedures.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, engaging employees in QHSE initiatives.
Risk Management and Incident Response:
Identify potential risks to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Manage crisis situations, such as safety breaches or environmental spills, minimizing their impact.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Collect, analyse, and report data on QHSE performance metrics, using findings to make improvements.
Use audits, inspections, and KPIs to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Report QHSE performance to senior management and provide recommendations for strategic planning.
The right candidate will have the following skills and background:
You will need to be a dynamic individual that can demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines
Familiarity with ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, and their applications in the aerospace industry.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
Expertise in risk assessment, hazard analysis, and incident investigation, with experience in aerospace materials and processes.
Strong communications skills and be able to work as part of an international team
The ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing customer requirements
Be self-motivated, able to work independently and be confident to work closely with the Directors.
To be considered for this opportunity:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, environmental science, or a related field.
Experience in quality assurance for manufacturing
Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or ISO lead auditor certifications, with specific experience in aerospace QHSE standards.
Experience in a quality, health, safety, or environmental role, ideally within the aerospace sector or similar industries.
