Responsibilities The Solution Engineering Operating Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational execution and continuous improvement of solution engineering teams. This role ensures that pre-sales and post-sales engineering solutions are delivered efficiently, align with customer needs, and adhere to strategic business goals. The manager will coordinate with sales, product management, R&D, and customer support to streamline operations, improve customer satisfaction and grow Aerospace Defense business. Operational Leadership: Lead and manage solution engineering operations across multiple projects and regions. Develop and implement standard operating procedures to drive consistency and quality. Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure operational excellence. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to define the strategic direction of the solution engineering function. Align operational activities with business goals, focusing on scalability and efficiency. Project Oversight: Oversee the execution of complex technical solutions, from proposal to delivery. Ensure resource allocation aligns with project priorities and deadlines. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to increase team efficiency. Introduce tools and systems to automate and optimize engineering workflows. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and R&D teams to align solutions with customer needs and product capabilities. Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of solution engineers and technical leads. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and professional development. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 8–12 years of experience in solution engineering, technical consulting, or operations management. Proven leadership and team management experience. Strong understanding of solution lifecycle management and technical project delivery. Experience with Aerospace Defense market and applications is a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with enterprise software or test and measurement technologies Experience working in a global/matrixed organization. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
