Site Services Manager

Tiverton

£55k-60k plus competitive package

This is a growing FMCG business with a strong manufacturing facility. The Site Services Manager role will enable its continued development as a key member of the Engineering Team ensuring the smooth running of the site and driving collaboration across all functions.

Overseeing utilities, water, air, and effluent systems is critical for the plant and, for those in this discipline, you will know just how much work goes on behind the scenes that is often invisible to everyone else. The site is looking for a professional with expertise in managing site services and facilities within a manufacturing environment. Ideally, previous supervisory or management experience is key as this role has a small team reporting in to provide effective support across all the key areas.

Why would you apply for this role?

  • The business has seen outstanding growth over the past 5 years.
  • It has a stable and growing customer base.
  • There are opportunities for progression through structured succession planning.

More on the role:

  1. Oversee the maintenance of utilities infrastructure, including steam boilers, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, and refrigeration units, to ensure reliable supply and optimal performance.
  2. Manage water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing measures to minimize waste and environmental impact.
  3. Monitor air quality parameters and implement measures to maintain safe and healthy indoor air quality levels, including ventilation systems and emission controls, in accordance with industry regulations.
  4. Coordinate effluent treatment processes and wastewater disposal systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and implementing sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.
  5. Ensure all site services operations adhere to relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections to identify and address any compliance issues with a focus on continuous improvement.
  6. Manage budgets for site services operations, optimizing resource allocation and implementing cost-saving initiatives while ensuring service reliability and quality.
  7. Liaise with external suppliers and contractors ensuring they have the right supervision and inductions and permits to work on site.

What do you need in your background?

  • Strong technical expertise in utilities, water treatment, air quality control, and effluent management systems, with a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and best practices. The site is ideally looking for a candidate to have BOAS training.
  • Leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact confidently with all internal and external functions.
  • Proven project management capabilities, with experience leading from conception to completion, on time and within budget.
