Shift Pattern: 46.40 Hour Night Shift - 18.00 to 06.00 Monday to Thursday
Salary: £22.72 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)

Opportunity Summary:
 
We have a vacancy for a Setter/Operator – CNC Grinder.

Role Accountabilities:

• Sets-up, operates and adjusts CNC grinding or polishing machines to grind metal workpieces.
• Dresses grinding wheel, according to specifications.
• Observes and listens to machine operation to determine whether adjustments are necessary to ensure workpieces meet specifications.
• Selects and mounts grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasive and grinding procedures.
• Examines and measures surface of workpiece to verify grinding meets specifications.
• Turns valves to direct flow of coolant against cutting wheel and workpiece.
• Measures and examines workpiece to verify that dimensions meet specifications.
• Studies blueprint or layout of metal workpiece to visualise grinding procedure and plan sequences of operations.
• Removes finished workpiece from machine and places in boxes or racks, depending on size of workpiece.
 
Person Specification:
 
• 3-5 years’ experience in the Aerospace/Automotive Industry in a similar role.
• Working to production timelines in a manufacturing environment.
• Working with SOPs and Company specific documentation.
• Self-driven, results orientated, with a positive outlook.
• Able to get on with others and be a team-player.
• Attention to detail and accuracy at all times.
• Working to deadlines.
• Managing workload effectively, prioritising where necessary.
