We have an opportunity for a Service Engineer to join the team in the Scotland area

As a Service Engineer you will support and service key customers within the Industrial sector, this can include customers in the metalworking, energy, renewables, food production or process industries. Our service support is an integral part of the business which adds value to the Certas proposition and helps to grow Certas Industrial business in line with UK Industrial sales strategies. Working closely with customers you will be required to provide essential fluid condition monitoring in accordance with HSE requirements, problem solving on lubrication issues, oil changes, routine samples taking and system performance monitoring. Training will be provided on specifics. You will be required to report and communicate with customers through our bespoke software solutions and traditional methods. You will also be responsible for supporting installation, set up and trials of new products and equipment at customer sites, including reporting on progress and improvements

We’re looking for:

  • Engineering diploma or similar (desirable), Chemistry or engineering A ‘level or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate the ability to find logical and practical approaches to problem solving.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within the Industrial metalworking sector, specifically in a metal machining environment.
  • Knowledge & experience of metal manufacturing and/ or engineering and production processes.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of CNC machine maintenance, equipment and MWF testing requirements and procedures.
  • Mechanical engineering experience (desirable).
  • Understanding of lubrication application and why lubricants are required.
  • Competence in use of computer systems: Microsoft applications (including Excel), ERP, CRM or equivalent.
  • Experience with data collection through monitoring, telemetry, software or data loggers.

The Role:

  • Responsible for managing own schedule in agreement with the application specialist and ASM.
  • Act with a clear sense of ownership and continuously strives to improve standards of quality in all activities ensuring the highest quality of service is offered to customers.
  • Report product performance feedback, competitor activities, and any new marketing initiatives to the UK industrial sales and Service and solutions team.
  • Input and report results with actions and recommendations to customers using online reporting software (Fluid Command).
  • Making practical and logical additions and corrections to products on customer sites, in line with company and customer HSE policies.
  • Manage the condition monitoring of MWF on customer sites, including testing and reporting to agreed schedules with the customer.
  • Visit customer sites to take samples, install equipment and telemetry and service equipment as required and practical.
  • Gains insight into customer needs and Identifies opportunities that benefit the customer.
  • Provide advice and training for customers on training on best practice, legislation changes and newly developed techniques for controlling, implementing and monitoring lubrication products and systems
