Senior Space Systems Engineer | Guildford | Hybrid | Competitive salary + strong package

This is your opportunity to join a cutting-edge Systems team, leading end-to-end space missions from concept through design, testing, launch, and operations. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions for missions across LEO, GEO, and beyond, working with cross-disciplinary teams in a collaborative and exciting environment.

Your Mission

Lead and contribute to mission design, system engineering, and technical development from bid stage to in-orbit operations.
Support the Sales and Engineering teams in generating technical solutions for various customers.
Design space and ground segments, including mission analysis, requirements engineering, and trade studies.
Drive system engineering across all project phases:
Requirements management
Concept of operations (ConOps) development
System and subsystem interfacing & trade-offs
Assembly, integration, and test (AIT)
Requirement verification and system validation
Spacecraft commissioning and operations
Perform cost, risk, schedule, and performance trade-offs.
Support and lead technical studies and customer-facing presentations.
Oversee subcontractor management and ensure technical excellence.
Mentor junior engineers and improve internal processes.
Act as a technical focal point for Mission Products, maintaining key system-level insights. 
Skills & Experience

Proven spacecraft Systems Engineering experience (7+ years preferred)
Expertise in cradle-to-grave space mission design
Strong knowledge of space and ground segments, including mission architectures and requirements verification
Hands-on experience with spacecraft verification testing and in-orbit commissioning
Technical leadership in managing project work packages and subcontractors
Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
Strong understanding of orbit analysis, RF link budgets, system architectures, satellite constellations, and mission operations
Proficiency in STK, MATLAB, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Familiarity with environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum), FMECA, FDIR design, and requirements management
Excellent communication & presentation skills—customer-facing experience a plus!
Ability to work under pressure and deliver solutions within tight deadlines
