Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Role summary:

The primary purpose of the Senior Software Engineer role is to develop and maintain our internal automated validation framework for Automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in a Platform as a Service (PaaS). This framework will ensure the reliability, functionality, and compliance of automotive ECUs, supporting the entire software development lifecycle from integration to production. The role also extends into sub-tools spin off from the same validation framework for specific use-cases.

Areas of Responsibility:

·Drive the development and maintenance of a scalable and flexible automated validation framework.

·Integrate applications as services/capabilities to our internal platform, enabling easy high availability of functionality distributed across different use-cases.

·Work with suppliers having expert knowledge in specific domains (Automotive Networks, UI Validation) and tailoring their solutions to work for/with our internal requirements.

·Drive continuous improvements in the software tooling by incorporating feedback from cross-functional user groups adapting to automotive standards and technologies

Knowledge / Experience:

Must Have:

·Strong background in software development life cycle

·Working knowledge of web based full-stack application development including frameworks such as React and NextJS.

·High-level knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as Automotive Ethernet and CAN

·Competent in Python language programming including multi-processing and threading design patterns.

·Competent in backend development and distributed systems.

Desirable:

·Competent in C# and C++ development

Advantageous:

·Experience delivering cloud based scalable solutions.

·Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and its maintenance.
