WHAT TO EXPECT
Software is at the heart of some of the most complex electrical/electronic engineering we do. The Senior Software Engineer shall have experience in design and development of software based on AUTOSAR architecture. You will work closely with suppliers and software team, to guide them through all the phases of software development lifecycle, namely Requirements, Design Coding and Validation. You should have hands on experience modules like COM, Diagnostics, Memory, OS, and Error Management. As part of the high-performing team, you will bridge the technical and business worlds as you design vehicles that our customers desire. You'll work with some of the most talented software engineers. You will be an integral part of shaping JLR’s next generation vehicle programs. In this role, you will contribute to the mission of delivering most innovative software solutions. You will be part of the team that drive product strategy and collaborate closely with engineering development and cross-functional teams to define and deliver on the next vehicle programs. Key accountabilities and responsibilities
Autonomous system systems software design and software embedment knowledge to lead teams from application software to embedded software solutions Write work packages and detailed technical work based on the user requirements, identifying and recording technical risks and assumptions made in the software development life-cycle Software Design - the specification and design of systems and their components to meet defined needs, retaining compatibility with Software architectures. Mentoring software developers on design patterns, development best practices and DevOps trade-offs
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Significant Software engineering and embedded systems experience Previous experience in specialist technologies, complex systems and tools and processes Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies and manufacturing systems and tools Significant experience of Software Development Life Cycle and associated processes Multiple Software Language skills Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
