ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Mirus and our products meet the highest quality standards, driving down quality costs while enhancing customer satisfaction. You’ll be integral in upholding procedures and processes, making a lasting impact within our rapidly growing organization as you help shape the future of Mirus.

You will take the lead in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for our quality systems, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Additionally, you will support, maintain, and generate documentation in line with these standards, while providing independent oversight and stepping in as a delegate for the Quality and Compliance Manager when needed.

Your expertise will guide the use of structured problem-solving tools and risk management techniques to address non-conformances across all areas. You’ll leverage analytics to identify improvement opportunities, resolve issues, minimize errors, reduce variation, and ultimately enhance customer satisfaction.

Please kindly note this is not a software Testing/Development role.

In your role as our Senior Quality Engineer, you will

  • Acting as a deputy and delegate for the Quality & Compliance Manager when needed.

  • Supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and promotion of the Quality Management System (QMS) across the organization, ensuring alignment with legislative, regulatory requirements, customer needs, and business objectives.

  • Establishing and maintaining quality manuals, expositions, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.

  • Leading, compiling, assisting, and maintaining critical documentation, including quality plans, PFMEAs, flowcharts, AS9102 first article inspection reports, and work instructions.

  • Establishing and overseeing the internal audit and surveillance program in line with approvals and certifications, ensuring identified weaknesses are addressed, and processes are improved as needed.

  • Continuously monitoring the QMS to ensure its effectiveness, conducting periodic reviews with functional owners, and updating procedures and processes as required.

  • Investigating and managing non-conformances and occurrence reports, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving techniques to resolve issues.

  • Managing customer quality concerns and overseeing customer surveillance audits.

  • Leading corrective or improvement actions, facilitating cross-functional teams to drive success and achieve objectives.

  • Facilitating non-conformance (NC), root cause corrective actions (RCCA), and continuous improvement activities across various business functions.

    ABOUT YOU

    To support Mirus Aircraft Seating in our continued growth, you will bring your expertise in Quality Engineering, a sharp eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. In addition, you will possess the following skills, experience, qualifications, and attributes:

  • Degree level or higher, desirable in business and/or technical disciplines.

  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Extensive experience of ISO9001, AS9102, AS9100, ISO17025, CAA Part 21G & J.

  • FAI knowledge and understanding.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of quality management systems and associated regulatory frameworks.

  • Demonstrable experience using Lean / Quality tools (Inc.. 8D methodology, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc ) within a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques.

  • Process mapping and creation of standard work / operating procedures and processes and policies.

  • Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information.

  • Able to coach, mentor and communicate compliance requirements.

    Desirable:

  • Experience in quality roles, within an aerospace, automotive or similar highly regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in the Defense/Aerospace Quality Standards and requirements.

  • Experience in the development of personnel.

    Personal skills / attributes:

  • High level of personal accountability and a strong bias for action.

  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Methodical and organized, with an ability to meet demanding deadlines.

    Eligible to work in the UK and ability to work flexible hours, as required.

    This position may require travel and the individual must hold a current passport and be willing to undertake short and long haul travel on an as required basis.
