JOB TITLE: Senior Production Engineer NPI REPORTING To: Production Engineering ManagerA great opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer to join a world class manufacturing company. The role will report directly to the Production Engineering Manager, working alongside the Design, CAMProgramming & Manufacturing teams.Key Responsibilities1. To support the Production Engineering team with associated functions to deliver multiply Production programmes2. Creating and updating manufacturing routing and structures3. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) both from a Design for Manufacture (DFM) perspective and operational performance4. Design and implement jigs and fixtures for manufacturing operations5. Create detailed 3D Models and 2D drawings. (BS8888)6. Lead Design for manufacture (DFM) reviews on components alongside Design and Productions teams7. Suggest reliable and cost-effective manufacturing methods from manufacturing drawings8. Support the business improvement plans with lean techniques e.G., PFMEA, DFMEA9. Liaise with both internal and external customers as required10. Evaluate drawings for manufacturability, cost, and delivery targets11. Deliver continuous improvement projects across the business12. Create and update company work instructions / standards SOP’s13. Lead Make vs Buy exercises, evaluating most cost-effective processes14. Reviewing operation set and run times, standardising, and updating where required15. Support the shop floor with manufacturing issues offering proactive solutions16. To carry out reasonable duties as requested by management.Person SpecificationE = Essential D = DesirableEducation, Qualifications and TrainingEducated to a minimum HNC/HND EEducated to a minimum of degree level EKnowledgeKnowledge of Metallic Manufacturing techniques and processes. (Turning, Milling, Gear Cutting, Heat treatment, Grinding, EDM) EA good understanding of ERP, MRP and Manufacturing planning techniques. EExperience of Design for Manufacturing / Assembly processes EExperience5 years plus post qualification experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Motorsport Engineering and/orManufacturing. EPrevious experience in a Production Engineering environment D3D CAD modelling, 2D drafting for manufacturing / production ECAD CAM experience would be a benefit but is not essential DSkills/AbilitiesExcellent organisational skills EInitiative and enthusiasm working calmly to deliver required projects EFlexible approach to work.
