About this Senior Motorsports Engineer Role

As a Senior Motorsport Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and CAD modelling of composite and metallic components for high-performance vehicles. Reporting to the Head of Motorsports Engineering, you will play a critical role in translating customer requirements into innovative, high-quality solutions while ensuring structural integrity and compliance with industry standards. You will also mentor junior designers, ensuring best practices are maintained across the team.

What is expected of you as a Senior Motorsports Engineer with our client?

Minimum HND / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 10+ years' relevant industry experience, including 5+ years in the motorsport sector Strong knowledge of CAD, preferably NX11 Proficient in hand calculations to validate designs Understanding of manufacturing techniques for mechanical components and tooling Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to practical solutions Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities of a Senior Motorsports Engineer with our client

Design and CAD modelling of mechanical and composite components (NX preferred, Catia considered) Perform hand calculations to support designs Analyse and interpret customer requirements into technical deliverables Prepare detailed designs and manufacturing drawings, including tolerances Liaise with Aerodynamic and Calculations departments to ensure compliance with design intent and structural performance Drive continuous improvement in designs and processes to maintain best practices Adhere to company quality standards AS D (training provided) Lead and mentor junior designers to maintain design quality and consistency Support the Test team in exploring and validating technical solutions
