Senior Metrology Application Engineer

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced, adaptable Senior Metrology Engineer to lead complex client projects and deliver technical excellence in metrology. As a key member of the team, you will provide bespoke solutions to customers, working on a variety of projects in sectors including medical, automotive, and aerospace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or science engineering, a proven track record in metrology, and the ability to engage with clients confidently.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of complex metrology solutions, ensuring high technical standards and timely project completion.
Develop and deliver customized metrology fixtures, engineering drawings, and metrology programs for clients.
Manage client relationships and oversee project delivery, including organizing teams and coordinating with operations to ensure smooth execution.
Provide technical guidance in the sales process, delivering on-site and in-house demonstrations of metrology systems.
Work proactively to solve technical challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.
Support the Head of Technical Delivery, offering managerial cover when necessary.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant science.
5-10 years of experience as a metrologist or senior quality engineer.
Strong knowledge of metrology, including calibration uncertainty, GD&T, and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
Experience programming and working with metrology systems such as CMMs and vision systems.
Proven problem-solving abilities to address challenging technical issues.
Solid project management skills with the ability to manage customer expectations and deliver on time.
Proficient in Solidworks or similar CAD software for mechanical design.
Full clean driving license.
Desirable:
Experience in robotics or industrial automation.
Software and programming experience.
