Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Senior Infotainment Project Engineer specializing in automotive interior switches to be based at our clients site in Woking.Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.Role summary:The Senior Infotainment Project Engineer is responsible for development, test and delivery of state-of-the-art infotainment and multimedia features.The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player who specialises in interior switches and has an exceptional attention to detail. The role will suit an Engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers within a multidisciplinary team.Dimension of Function:Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on projects and programmes for our clients. This position will be working on Infotainment features within the cockpit electronics projects for our customers.Areas of Responsibility:The Cockpit Electronics team is responsible for the specification, test and delivery of infotainment systems, displays, audio systems and interior switches. The responsibilities of the Senior Infotainment Engineer will include the following:Write detailed software requirements and specificationsLead integration of infotainment system features (Specialty in Radio) with the overall vehicle architectureManage the development of multiple hardware and software suppliers to deliver infotainment features on time, on cost, and within quality and functional specificationsReport on current activities, software status and issues at a business levelDevelop and co-ordinate DVP plans for all areas associated with cockpit electronics software and hardware.Ensure and sign-off launch readiness of features for productionTest road cars with the latest features and content before releaseAssist with fault finding and root cause analysis of software and hardware failures.Report bugs and create test reportsDrive issue resolution with hardware and software suppliersTake responsibility for resolving infotainment issues on current production vehicles.Knowledge / Experience:Experience in a systems engineering, or electronics role; ideally in automotive industry.Experience of the Systems Development Lifecycle (V Model); writing system requirements, defining test cases and writing test procedures.Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard:- Specifications- FMEA- DVPOrganised, systematic and understands the process of fault finding.Ability to effectively manage time between multiple projects.Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet and corresponding tools.Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics.DesirableHardware:Good understanding of HW required to support in car infotainment and radio receptionGood understanding of supplier managementGood working knowledge of PSW processRadio:Good understanding of worldwide radio standardsGood understanding of how vehicle environment affects reception performanceAbility to interface and communicate effectively with other teams inside ES&CSeries support:Appreciation of automotive manufacturingUnderstanding of electrical architectures and software release processesComfortable in dealing with line operatives, engineers and management in productionCompetences:Drive for Results: Demonstrates and fosters a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals .Customer Centricity: Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service.Lead Courageously: Takes personal and organizational risks to do what is right and achieve organizational success and supports others who do so.Developing & Managing Relationships: Develops and maintains constructive, open and honest relationships with others.Decision Making: Identifies and analyses information to make decisions and solve problems.People Development: Ensures the availability and development of the talent needed to meet current and future organizational goals.In return for bringing your expertise to our business we offer a competitive salary along with excellent benefits including:Pension Scheme We match employee contribution up to 5% of salary25 Days HolidayPrivate Health CareTata Jaguar Land Rover Privilege Scheme - up to 20% off new JLR vehiclesGroup Income ProtectionHealth Assured Employee Assistance ProgramGroup Life AssuranceChildcare VouchersHealth Shield Private Health Cash PlanIf you are passionate about bringing innovation to the projects you work on and want to join a global company, then this is the place for you.Tata Technologies: Engineering a better world.Tata Technologies would like to thank all applicants for their interest, each application will be reviewed against the set criteria for the role.
