Our client, a global information technology services and consulting company, is recruiting for a Senior Engineer – Electrical Integration to join their business in the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Hydrogen Fuel System Technical Lead, this role encompasses the following responsibilities for achieving success:
Specialized Electrical Integration Expertise:Specialize in electrical integration methodologies, ensuring efficient incorporation of avionic systems into the aircraft's electrical architecture. Develop innovative solutions for electrical integration challenges, emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Avionics System Design and Development:Support/lead the design and development of advanced avionics systems, focusing on electrical integration aspects such as power distribution, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility, with special attention to cryogenic design and integration
Key Tasks include:
Cryogenic Compatibility Assessment:Evaluate avionic systems for their compatibility with extreme low-temperature environments, especially in cryogenic conditions typical of aerospace applications. Conduct thorough analysis and simulations to ensure electrical components and systems can operate efficiently and safely in extreme cold temperatures. Collaborate with design teams to implement cryogenic-specific modifications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality under cryogenic conditions.
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Mitigation:Identify potential sources of electromagnetic interference within avionic systems and develop strategies to mitigate EMI risks. Implement shielding techniques, grounding solutions, and filtering methods to minimize EMI effects on electrical components, ensuring signal integrity and system reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct EMI testing and validate the effectiveness of mitigation measures, making necessary adjustments as required.
Integration Protocol Development:Define and establish comprehensive integration protocols for avionic systems within the aircraft's electrical architecture. Develop standardized procedures and guidelines for integrating various electrical components, ensuring consistency, compatibility, and reliability across different avionic subsystems. Conduct regular integration tests and collaborate closely with testing teams to validate adherence to integration protocols, identifying and resolving integration-related issues promptly.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, specifically in the context of electrical systems
Education:
Degree level or equivalent in a STEM or adjacent discipline
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics engineering, with a strong focus on electrical integration, system design, and testing for aerospace applications.
Proven expertise in leading cross-functional teams and defining complex avionics system requirements with an emphasis on electrical integration.
Strong background in electrical integration methodologies, electromagnetic compatibility, and power distribution systems.
Experience in liquid hydrogen handling is highly desired.
Experience in relevant technology development [TRL3-6] project environments highly desired
