Role:

Senior Accountant

Salary: Up to £35,000

Located: Rotherham

Hours: 37.5 hours per week but flexible working around core hours (10.30am – 4.00pm)

In this role you will be responsible for delivering a first-class service to key clients by providing comprehensive accounts and audit support to a busy accountancy practice.


The business is looking for someone with a strong background working at a similar level within an accountancy practice environment. Ideally you will have excellent experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, Iris and Excel.


Key responsibilities:

Oversee client bookkeeping


Manage and take responsibility for own portfolio of clients
Preparation of complex company financial statements
Preparation of interim management accounts
Preparation of personal tax returns
Preparation of partnership accounts and returns
Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
VAT Registration and Deregistration
Forecasts and business projections
Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
Train members of staff and allocate duties
Set and work to budgets to meet monthly forecasts
Any other general accountancy/administrative work as required

The successful person will:

Be qualified by experience and/or part-qualified ACA/ACCA.


Have at least 10 years working in an accountancy practice environment.
Have excellent experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, Iris, Excel (essential), Sage Business Cloud (advantage)
Have strong Attention to Detail
Have excellent Time Management Skills
Have exceptional Communication Skills with a good telephone manner
Have good written and technical Skills
Have strong Prioritisation and Organisation Skills
Ability to Handle Confidential Information
