Pay: £90 – £120 per day (DOE)

Are you a compassionate and patient individual who thrives on helping children with additional needs reach their full potential?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students in inclusive and nurturing school environments across Derby. You will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs both in and out of the classroom, assist the class teacher in creating engaging lessons and provide individualised support to help each learner build confidence, develop independence, and make meaningful progress.

Your Duty:


  • Support students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language, and learning difficulties
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement learning plans
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and active participation in class
  • Adapt learning materials to make lessons accessible and engaging
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued


What you’ll require:


  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school-based or similar setting)
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
