Satellite Presales Engineer

Salary: £75K - £85K + additional 25% quarterly bonus

Location: Milton Keynes - Hybrid - 2 days on-site

What you will be doing

• This role is responsible primarily for technical sales support in the pre-sales phase.
• This includes providing solutions to customer requirements, creating network designs, presenting them to customers and serving as an expert consultant.
• The Presales Engineer is responsible for costing all service components and pricing a total service proposition to the customer, while working closely with the sales and procurement teams.
• The Presales Engineer is also responsible for defining, demonstrating, and leading test installations, including creating the respective documentation.
• Post-sale support includes the periodic review of network and customer requirements, and keeping customers informed of new products and services to support the upsell of new products and services.

Requirements:

• Must have experience working on Satellites.
• Proven experience in both core network and access network design, connectivity technologies terrestrial, wireless (4G, 5G) and satellite implementation, and knowledge of SDWAN, Cloud services and application requirements over networks.
• Proven experience and expert knowledge of satellite technology, satellite services and satellite networks specific core components and sub systems.
• Experience in writing proposals and responding to tenders.
• Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills, interfacing at all levels of customer organization, and are adept at dealing with multiple stakeholders.
• Problem-solving, prioritisation and analytical ability.
• In possession of an affinity with both sales and technology functions, and a ‘commercial’ approach.
• 5+ years’ experience in wide-area network engineering, presales engineering or system engineering, preferably with some exposure to satellite comms networks, and wireless networks.
• You have a good understanding of the latest Network technologies such as: SDWAN (VMWare, Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco); transport (xDSL, Fibre, LTE, 5G etc.), LAN and WLAN, next generation firewall technologies, Cloud infrastructure services etc.
