Responsibilities

  • Facilitates, implements, and evaluates the Patient Plan of Care and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the health care team to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Is seen as a patient advocate.
  • Timely implementation of nursing interventions.
  • Technical Skills: demonstrates appropriate clinical skills and technical competence in providing patient care.
  • Critical Thinking: demonstrates appropriate clinical judgment.
  • Assesses, analyzes and communicates patient information in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Accurately and promptly documents all patient assessments, interventions, responses and provider communication.
  • Completes Safety Tracking Tools as required.
  • Delegation and supervision: supervises assigned staff, delegates appropriately, takes responsibility for all care provided to patients assigned.
  • Documents assessment and education provided.
  • Provider orders: Performs ongoing review, initiation and implementation of patient orders in a timely manner every shift.
  • Prioritization: prioritizes responsibilities and issues, taking into account urgency, patient needs, and seeks appropriate resources.
  • Professional Accountability: Actively engages in unit based councils and performance improvement.

Competencies Skills

Essential: Experience In Hospital Or Acute Care Setting, Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal, Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members, Able To Withstand Crisis Situations, Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors, Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records.

Credentials

Essential: RN - Registered Nurse, BLS - Basic Life Saving certification, ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Saving certification (required within 3 months of hire), NIH - Stroke Certification.

Education

Essential: RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program.
