RF System Test EngineerPortsmouth – 12 month duration with potential to extend – Pay rate £49.14 p/h PAYE basic (£56.28 including holiday pay) or £65 p/h UmbrellaAbout the role:You will join our Aerospace clients Modems and Software Defined Radio group and report to the Engineering Manager of the project, delivering a new product to the UK MOD.As the project is for UK MOD, you must be eligible for a UK Security Clearance.The role will be based in Portsmouth, UK. The role has a flexible working pattern and you will be required to be in office 60% of your time.You will be a Test Engineer with proven ability of working with mixed RF and baseband technologies. Within our team, you will work to generate and implement test scenarios for software-defined modem technologies.Mandatory Skills:Design and specification of system tests with tracing to requirements for verification (including pass/file criteria).Implementation of tests using software scripts and incorporation into an automated test framework.Familiarity with the operation of supporting test equipment (spectrum analysers, function generators, Cisco router, etc.)Familiarity with test report authoring/generation.Ability with fault finding and investigation of test failures.Beneficial Skills:System and software modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, SysML, UML.Python for test purposesA background knowledge/interest of satellite communication systems/industry or Modem technologyAbility to work with passion and determination and to tight deadlines in an environment of continuous improvement.Familiarity of using agile methodologies in delivery is desirableAbility to work in a multi-disciplinary teamAdditional Information:This role will require the successful applicant to hold a valid UK Security Clearance to SC level
