We are recruiting for a Repair Engineer to join our client within the Aerospace industry on a permanent deal to support exciting new, upcoming programmes as the team continues to grow.

REPAIR ENGINEER - 45,000 PER ANNUM - BLACKWOOD, WALES - PRIVATE MEDICAL - FLEXI WORKING - LIFE ASSURANCE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Authority:

  • Work closely with operational teams and mechanics on the shop floor to assess aircraft damage and determine structurally acceptable, cost-effective repair schemes for a variety of aerospace component defects, including metallic and composite materials, ensuring compliance with EASA/UKCAA standards.

  • Consult with OEMs, regulatory bodies, and vendors on technical issues to ensure alignment with industry best practices.

  • Identify and source required materials for repair and production.

  • Provide technical support to production workshops and other departments on all structural repair and engineering matters.

  • Perform stress analysis to support the repair approval process.

  • Generate technical reports on modules and components as required by customers.

  • Offer full technical support to production teams, utilizing expertise in materials and processes.

  • Contribute to process and technological improvements within the business.

  • Conduct damage investigations and compile detailed reports.

  • Drive the development of new repair procedures to enhance cost efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

  • Oversee the introduction of new products into the repair and production processes.

  • Attend and successfully complete the Boeing Part 1 Structural Repair course and any other relevant training as required.

Position Requirements:

  • Aerospace background with a minimum of an HNC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline, or a degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering.

  • Ideally, a minimum of five years of experience in the aerospace industry with a repair design background; candidates with three years of relevant experience may also be considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex engineering challenges.

  • Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation from various sources and adapting it for use within the business.

  • Strong computer literacy, with experience in engineering drawing software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing, internally and externally.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Capability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

  • Willingness and ability to travel without restrictions as required for business needs.
