The Electrical and Electronic engineering function supports the hardware development lifecycle consisting of requirements analysis, design, implementation, test and verification in order to deliver electronic or electrical components and subassemblies into projects and products. The Quality Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming items and items produced within.
Responsibilities:
Proven experience working as a test engineer/ technician in an electrotechnical environment or similar.
* Confidence to carry out good's inward inspection and test of electronic and electrical sub-assemblies.
* Program a range of devices including FPGA, ASIC, PIC during goods in and assembly test.
* Inspection and test on internally built electrical, electronic and RF sub-assembly through to final assembly inspections. This verifying that defined process is consistently applied producing a product that meets all applicable specifications.
* Debug/ fault finding activities on a range of electronic and RF hardware hardware.
* Ability to correctly analyse and interpret test specification, electrical schematics, data sheets, component specifications and other engineering documents.
* Knowledge of IPC or equivalent soldering standards.
* Raise quality paperwork- e.g. non-conformance reports, concessions, EC's…..
* Knowledge of RF test equipment and Oscilloscope' usage.
* Follow and contribute to Quality procedures.
Experience needed:
* BTEC Level 3/ NVQ L3 or equivalent qualified, ideally in electronics or RF field or may have equivalent verifiable experience.
* Experience in a quality/inspection role in the electromechanical/ electrotechnical industry.
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office package (M365) and willingness to Learn ERP package (EFACS).
* Great communication skills both verbal and written.
* Can do attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop.
* Strong self-management and organisation skills, with a high attention to detail.
* Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS Clearance (possibly elevate to SC in the future).
Desirable:
* Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous
* Operate a Network Analyzer testing RF cables, RF couplers, RF power dividers and RF amplifiers.
* IPC610, IPC620 & J-Std Certified.
* Knowledge of quality control methodologies.
* Experience working with ISO9001 quality management system..
* Ability to run ATE system (LabVIEW).
* Support internal quality audits and investigation, such as root cause analysis, PPS, 5Why.
