Job Title: Quality EngineerLocation: NorfolkSalary: £45,000 - £55,000Type: PermanentOmega is excited to be recruiting for a leading provider in advanced engineering solutions for high-performance industries. DUe to their continued growth, they are looking to add a Quality Engineer to the team.Key Responsibilities:Quality Planning & Assurance:Develop and implement quality and control plans, support QMS (Quality Management Systems), and conduct risk assessments like PFMEA to prevent potential failures.Quality Control & Inspection:Ensure rigorous inspection processes, corrective action definitions, and calibration for tools and equipment are in place to maintain top quality standards.Customer & Supplier Quality:Coordinate on customer complaints and warranty claims, issue corrective action reports, and conduct audits and evaluations for suppliers.Process Improvement & Problem Solving:Lead root cause analysis (RCA), drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and proactively implement corrective actions.Compliance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and manage essential quality documentation, supporting product safety and regulatory compliance.Training and Development:Train staff on quality standards and procedures to align processes with environmental, health, and safety standards.Change Management:Manage quality-related process changes (QCN) and support Engineering Change Notices (ECN).Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Proficiency in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP.Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, RCA.Lean and Six Sigma expertise for continuous improvement.Strong communication and reporting skills.Effective problem-solving with analytical and creative thinking.Project management abilities to oversee audits and timelines.Experience:Background in quality assurance/control within automotive, aerospace, or defence.Proven experience in process improvement and supplier quality management.Education:Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Certification (Silver or equivalent), and Lead Auditor to ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.Benefits25 days' holiday (in addition to 8 public holidays).Group Personal Pension (with Aviva) from 3 months service with the company.
