Our UK facility is co located on the Rolls-Royce campus on Victory Road, Derby, our largest UK customer. We are close to the A50, M1 and M42 and within a short commute time from Derby, Nottingham and Leicester.Our UK business specialises in the production and delivery of aerospace tooling. Manufacturing and sourcing tools for engine and airframe build and repair, working with high profile OEMs to deliver quality products day in, day out. This is an exciting time to join our business as we expand our UK base to include an in-house assembly of our stands on site.About the role:Reporting to the Operations Manager but working with our global team, the role is responsible for managing the product quality system & processes; delivering continuous improvement, product inspection, analysis of issues and the coordination of subsequent actions for HYDRO UK. The post holder will be required to supervise the quality inspectors, support new starters, trainees, placements and lower skilled personnel. This may include the provision of guidance, basic training and communicating best practise with regards to your area of work.Responsibilities:Ensure that our onsite produced tooling and equipment meets technical requirements, through inspection techniques.Ensure customer requirements are achieved through product quality.Manage the Cost of Quality (both Good & Non), through monitoring and reporting. Developing recommendation and educating the team, to ensure the cost of non-quality reduces and systemic issues are eradicated.Govern process mapping, process & work instruction documentation for production.Drive continuous improvement throughout the UK organisation, whether the process is in production or in the offices. Drive year on year efficiencies. Introduce and maintain Kaizen tools & techniques.Conduct internal audits.Ensure the UK team is current with technology and requirements (i.e. Customer or regulatory etc) of industry standards for quality tools, lean manufacturing tools and techniques.Support the introduction of new products and projects from initial concept to delivery to customers.Analyse quality issues found in production and service and gather data/evidence 8D process review. Support resolution activities and corrective & prevent reoccurrence measures.Support colleagues to develop suppliers on product quality.Develop suitable Toolbox talks for training material with regards to quality activities for UK employees.Provide non-conformance approval in conjunction with other functions eg. Engineering.Interact with employees at all levels of the organisation.About you:Engineering HND/Degree or relevant engineering/quality/manufacturing experience.Quality Management qualification, or significant demonstrable experience.Product inspection experience.Internal audit experience.Continuous Improvement experience.Advantageous:LEEA qualified.Lean manufacturing knowledge.Six Sigma Green or Black Belt with demonstrated practical experience.You may have experience of the following: Quality Assurance Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, Product Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Quality Systems Engineer, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Quality and Process Improvement Engineer, Quality Compliance Engineer, Quality Assurance Specialist, Inspection and Quality Engineer, etc.REF-218 246TPBN1_UKTJ
