QSHE Manager

Location: Manchester

Contract: Permanent

We are currently looking for a Quality Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager (QHS&E) for a client that specialises in aerospace manufacturing, based in Manchester.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects relating to onsite requirements for Quality and HS&E Management, including implementation of additional controls where required to ensure we maintain our legal compliance.

Day to day you will work as a QHSE Manager and coordinator, taking a hands-on approach to HSE management and tasks. You will also be the main point of contact for Quality.

Role Responsibilities – QSHE Manager:

Creation of procedures, SSOW’s, management of onsite PUWER / COSHH / DSEAR, support and completion of task based and generic risk assessments for all process areas.
Managing customer and supplier non-conformance reports including leading on problem solving activities.
Management of manufacturing losses including MRB and Scrap. Supporting manufacturing process through PFMEA and Control plans.
Providing mentoring and support for managers, supervisors, and employees.
Effecting culture change for onsite HS&E, Management of safety & quality boards and monthly KPI’s,   Management of emergency procedures, management of employee inductions,  completion of monthly HS&E walkthrough audits and management for close out of findings, Management of statutory inspections, workplace occupational health monitoring, development of process areas H&S controls, including signage, PPE, waste management, delivering employee HS&E toolbox talks, support for onsite contractor’s inductions including issuing of permits, development of management systems to gain 45001 / 14001:2015 certification.
Management of Quality and HS&E team / contractors / consultants / admin’ support
Manage all areas of Quality and HS&E working alongside the Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Teams
Management and development of Health, Safety, Environmental Network databases, online portals
Manage the development and implementation of Quality and HS&E Management systems
Management for creation of Quality and HS&E policies and procedures
Manage work for implementation of certification for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Manage and support liaison with customers, suppliers and certification bodies
Creating a positive culture for Quality and HS&E
Maintaining legal compliance
Management for delivery of Quality and HS&E training programs
Execution of organisations annual Quality and HS&E Objectives and Targets
Manage PFMEA and complete Control Plans for Manufacturing Process
An ideal candidate for the QSHE Manager role would have:

GRAD IOSH member of IOSH
Lead auditor certification for ISO 45001 (or previous for 18001) & ISO9001
Willing to gain NEBOSH certification (if not already held)
AIEMA Environmental Status
Proven track record for Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Management
Advanced computer literacy skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Manufacturing background
Experienced in OHSAS 45001, ISO14001 & ISO9001 standards
CDM Experience
ILM Qualification
Train the trainer qualification (PETTLS)
Experience with PFMEA & Control plans
