Project Manager - APS
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Programmes Team based in Coventry.
The MTC has a unique opportunity for a Project Manager. The successful candidate will support the Advanced Production Systems (APS) technology theme and have the core objective of delivering APS projects varying in length and complexity within budget and on-time.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is a role for the successful applicant to demonstrate their abilities through developing effective and realistic project plans, liaising with stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure timelines are adhered to, work output quality is high and provide customers/stakeholders with updates and reports throughout projects until their completion.
This is a role that will further upskill the right applicant demonstrating their capability with Programme Management as a competent project management professional. The role reports into a small busy team.
This role will involve being responsible for the delivery of projects (Internal/external). This will include the coordinated organisation, direction and implementation of a number of activities to achieve outputs, outcomes and realise benefits of strategic importance to the MTC.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who has:
Experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel Some knowledge of working on partially State funded projects Numerate with a strong focus on financial management Identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners / team leaders
In addition:
Proven capabilities in all aspects of the role of Assistant Project Manager or equivalent role within Programmes function Ability to manage projects autonomously Clear leadership potential to drive potentially larger projects Ability to demonstrate team leadership (whether indirect or direct) An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others A natural investigatory nature with strong analytical skills Generally able to resolve problems Demonstrable knowledge of PMP or similar framework Results driven self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems Embraces personal and professional development
