This position will be based in our EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) Space line of business, which will be part of a team delivering international space missions for satellites, launchers, and interplanetary vehicles. The company works with both national and international space agencies like NASA and European Space Agency as well as working across the commercial marketplace supporting missions that include Earth observation, internet of things (IoT) satellite constellations and global positioning and navigation systems. Job Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for managing and leading projects with achieving financial, delivery, and customer satisfaction objectives across all phases of the project. This role will support both production and design and development projects with an emphasis on both short-term and long-term strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Manage all phases of the project life cycle including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing projects
- Define and document project tasks and resource requirements.
- Select and coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project (if applicable).
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope as well as changes to the project plan and status reports.
- Tracks and controls schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and budget.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Prepare for, administer and document project meetings
- Provide direction and support to project team
- Serve as primary point of contact for external and internal project teams
- Administers construction contracts and obtains all necessary permits and licenses.
- Monitors site and/or project safety and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
- Analyze project outcomes to determine future improvements.
- Minimizes EnerSys' exposure and risk on project
Qualifications
- 5+ Years of Project Management/Program/IT Management
- 5 Years of ERP or packaged software implementation experience
- B.S in Information System, Computer Science or Engineering
- Strong Analytical and reasoning ability required.
- Knowledge/experience with multiple applications, technology, and database platforms is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge / Experience
- PMI or equivalent certification /relevant experience preferred. MBA desirable.
- Experience with integration of acquisitions desirable
- Proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable
