Most of your learningwill be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams aroundyou. You’ll have a chance to apply your academic training togenuine industry problems while completing modules that contributetowards your degree.Previous students on a Project ManagementIndustrial Placement have been involved in projects suchas: • Supporting the delivery ofcritical packages of works, including the preparation andinstallation of primary circuit components in the heart of thenuclear reactor.• Working alongside theconstruction and contractor teams to deliver important enablingworks to allow major milestones to be achieved; including readinessof the major cranes used to build the plant.• Taking the lead on smaller work packages, includingresolution of risks and issues, to obtain first hand experience ofthe range of skills required in the role and actually deliver apart of the plant’s construction journey.• Looking at how radiation protection supports the building andoperational life of new power stations; developing the skillsnecessary to support a wide range of teams in order to provideadvice on radiation protection. • Assistingin running, maintaining, and developing the condition monitoringprogramme throughout a plant.• Supportingimprovements to safety through communications campaigns, training,and other improvement projects. Who you areWe are looking for candidates who areon track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduateor postgraduate degree in Project Management, Engineering orScience.
