EMBS Engineering is working on behalf of one of our most prestigious clients who specialise in the manufacture of safety critical, complex components for high profile customers that operate within the precision engineering industries.
As such, we’re seeking a proactive Progress Chaser to join their team, providing critical support to our Group Purchasing Manager. This role is perfect for someone with strong multi-tasking skills who can handle multiple priorities, drive results, and is passionate about maintaining an efficient and streamlined manufacturing process.

The objective of this role is to support and manage the companies purchasing administrative activities. Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure "on time, in full" cost effective delivery.
Key responsibilities:
Progress Chasing & Vendor Relationships: Ensure timely, complete delivery of parts by tracking and expediting materials through each stage of the manufacturing cycle. Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors to secure on-time, cost-effective parts.
Logistics & Transportation Coordination: Manage internal and third-party logistics to optimise cost and efficiency. You’ll coordinate transportation for materials, ensuring that delivery performance aligns with production schedules.
MRP System Management: Input, analyse, and action data in the ERP system, updating records to reflect real-time purchasing status and communicating relevant updates to the team.
Quotation & Order Management: Initiate quotes for suppliers and track purchase orders, from issue to confirmation, including resolving queries and invoice discrepancies.
Administrative Support: Perform various administrative duties to support the purchasing team, including running ERP reports, investigating supplier queries, and addressing any ad-hoc requests from the team.
In order to be successful, candidates MUST be able to demonstrate:
Experience: Previous experience in purchasing or procurement administration within a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with ERP systems and strong MS Office skills (Excel and Outlook).
Previous experience performing a Progress Chasing position would be ideal.
Organisational Skills: Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, capable of multi-tasking in a time-sensitive environment.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
Initiative & Drive: Self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and drive to see tasks through to completion.
