Scope

The Production Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and execution phases necessary for Payload Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT). This role involves ensuring adherence to the AIT reference process (APE process) and managing schedules, resources, and activities across various locations, including the UK, Germany, and Spain.

Role

The Production Engineer will oversee AIT processes, focusing on payload logic structuring, scheduling, and coordination of resources, ensuring efficient and timely execution of Payload Assembly, Integration, and Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Structure the payload logic based on technical information from all AIT trades, creating synoptic levels (1/2/3) that include phases, ranges, and operations.
  • Develop and maintain the preparation and execution schedule, detailing AIT activities, human resources, and materials critical to project timelines.
  • Release requirements for kits, deliveries of flight/ground equipment, AIT procedures, and preparation/delivery of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Manage and monitor the AIT schedule, including phase reviews, GO meetings, MBOM meetings, and daily meetings.
  • Update and analyse the schedule, focusing on the critical path, material margins, and load plans, while proposing alternative scenarios as needed.
  • Lead the GO Meeting Review and develop mitigation plans to address potential issues.
  • Create and update daily meeting agendas and documentation to ensure effective communication among team members.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in production management or project coordination within the aerospace industry, particularly in AIT processes.
  • Familiarity with the Advanced Production Engineering (APE) process and experience in managing project schedules and resources.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and coordinating activities across various technical domains.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in facilitating meetings and synthesising complex information for diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent coordination and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple trades effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Primavera/Unified Planning, Microsoft Visio, SAP, and DDMS.
  • Strong analytical skills for schedule updates and scenario planning.
