Who are you?
We are looking for an experienced Engineer to join the Product Assurance team within our Space BU. Ideally with a background in Product Assurance, you will have strong and broad engineering knowledge. Good communications skills are essential, and you will have a proven ability in stakeholder management, both internal and external, customer and supplier. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are critical to this role.
Experience in most of the following areas is required:
- Product assurance experience (preferably to ECSS and/or NASA standards)
- Ability to understand, tailor and communicate engineering processes
- Problem solving – strong mind-set and knowledge of processes / tools
- Support to planning and monitoring of test and verification campaigns
- Design and development phases of products (hardware, software and/or service)
- Non-Conformance Management
- Involvement in delivery of complex systems
- Involvement in Design Reviews
- Experience of systems deployed in challenging/unique environments
- Knowledge of EEE parts and/or RAMS
What will you be doing here?
- Define (in conjunction with the project and Product Integrity teams) product assurance and quality requirements for projects.
- Translate the requirements into a specific, pragmatic approach for the project.
- Monitor the implementation of product assurance measures during the design, manufacturing, integration, test and trials phases of the programme.
- Audit and monitor the quality management approach of key suppliers.
- Support the component & material procurement / selection process against the space environment requirements.
- Support the identification of the qualification requirements and the qualification plan authoring for the hardware design.
- Chair non-conformance investigations.
- Ensure that technical analyses are reviewed for engineering quality.
- Provide support to test campaigns.
- Report on activities to the project manager and engineering manager – in support of monitoring engineering performance metrics.
- Assess ESA and supply-chain alerts for relevant issues.
- Ensure that key engineering reviews (e.g. manufacturing readiness reviews, test review boards) are effective.
- Perform key inspections of components, assemblies and facilities.
- Delegate to/mentor engineers in PA/QA tasks where required.
