Our client, a market leader in bespoke IC chip design and development, is seeking a talented Principal Antenna Engineer to strengthen their growing RF/mmWave application teams.

With a well-established presence across the UK and international offices in key global locations, this opportunity offers the chance to work on cutting-edge technology projects in industries such as automotive, medical, space, and mobile communications.

The RoleThis is a full-time, permanent position where you'll play a pivotal role as thePrincipal Antenna Engineer, driving the development of antenna elements and phased arrays across RF and mmWave bands. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll design and implement innovative antenna solutions that are integral to high-performance systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing antenna elements and phased arrays
  • Simulating antenna/array performance (gain, bandwidth, efficiency, etc.)
  • Testing and characterising manufactured antennas
  • Coordinating with hardware and RFIC design teams to ensure practical integration
  • Supporting system performance analysis and calibration algorithms

What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements:

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field (MSc/PhD preferred)
  • Proven experience in printed antenna and phased array design (satellite, 5G, WLAN, radar, or GNSS applications)
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, EMPro)
  • Expertise in phased array simulation and antenna measurement techniques
  • Proficiency with Matlab, Python, and RF/mmWave laboratory equipment

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with communication standards and link budget analysis
  • Experience with RFIC design and DSP for phased arrays
  • Knowledge of PCB design and laboratory automation
