About the Role:
We are currently looking for a skilled machinist with a strong focus on cylindrical and surface grinding to join our precision engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and operating Myford Cylindrical Grinders and producing high-precision components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have experience in grinding small diameter journals with accuracy to microns, along with the ability to maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Cylindrical Grinding: Set up and operate Myford Cylindrical Grinders for the grinding of small diameter journals, achieving tolerances within microns for low-volume production runs.
Surface Grinding: Perform surface grinding tasks as required, ensuring precise finishes and tight tolerances.
Wheel Fitting & Dressing: Fit and dress grinding wheels to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
MRP System Use: Utilize the MRP system for attendance tracking and booking works order cards on and off jobs.Experience & Skills:

Proven experience in operating cylindrical and surface grinding machines, specifically Myford Cylindrical Grinders.
Strong understanding of grinding small diameter components with precision tolerances, especially within micron levels.
Experience fitting and dressing grinding wheels to optimize machine performance.
Familiarity with using MRP systems for work order management and attendance tracking.
High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in every aspect of the role.Desirable:

Experience in low-volume precision machining, particularly in industries requiring high tolerance components such as aerospace or automotive.
