Team: Enterprise Windows and Virtualization
Position Overview
As a Junior Systems Specialist, you will join a global team of engineers focused on Windows and Virtualization. Collaborating with senior members, you'll deliver vital services for the firm. This role needs a good grasp of fundamentals, quick learning ability, and the capacity to prioritize impactful projects. A passion for technology and resilience in a dynamic environment are key. The position will be part of one of four teams: three focus on infrastructure, while the fourth is a “services” sub-team that develops code-based tools and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and oversee Windows systems and services both on-premises and in the cloud, including Active Directory. Optimize and monitor Squarepoint’s global virtualization stack. Handle all VDI-related systems and infrastructure on-premises or in the cloud. Manage the firm’s messaging platform. Create advanced PowerShell workflows for automation, analytics, and self-healing.
Required Qualifications:
1-5 years of Windows environment experience. Experience managing VMware vSphere setups. Familiarity with systems monitoring and telemetry collection, using tools like Prometheus and vRealize Operations/Aria. Experience using high-level scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python (PowerShell preferred). Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have:
MCSE: Productivity or related experience VMware VCP in Desktop Mobility Deploy or VCAP Certification in Desktop Mobility Design Proficiency in high-level scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python (PowerShell preferred). Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages (C# or .NET preferred) Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts (source control, CI/CD, code quality validation, etc.). Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet). 1-5 years as a Windows Server Engineer Experience managing O365 Tenants and Services
