In this office-based role, you’ll join a dedicated team responsible for configuring our core SCADA Telemetry System and managing its Remote Telemetry Units across Drinking Water and Wastewater sites throughout the Southwest. You will manage telemetry configuration requests from multiple departments, set up critical alarms and capture essential regulatory data. During commissioning you will remotely support OT Engineers, ICA Technicians, Engineering Delivery Partners, and third parties to ensure smooth integration of new points and alarms. Additionally, you will troubleshoot telemetry and configuration issues, manage SCADA user accounts, assist with OT Incidents, and provide guidance on telemetry data.This is a key position within our OT Team, delivering crucial support to the wider business. This role provides a great opportunity to deepen your expertise in OT including telemetry, configuration, automation, and platform support, with the added responsibility of participating in an on-call rota to keep our essential systems running 24/7.
What you'll be doing:
Coordinate and collaborate with operational functions and other partners to ensure a forward schedule of configuration change Support the OT Assurance Manager by suggesting process improvements Assist in the selection, procurement and implementation of outstation hardware and other sensors Support the implementation of new technology by regression testing regional telemetry functionality as required Work with onsite engineers, ICA technicians and partner contractors to configure new regional telemetry outstations and signals, adhering to relevant standards. Edit existing telemetry configuration as required and remove redundant signals and outstations, adhering to relevant standards. Configure smart alarms through use of logic and sequence charts. Support the development and use of configuration templates, presets and regional mimics. Respond to requests for configuration status and trend data, using reporting software and database queries. Adhere to change and request governance process. Monitor alarm lists to help ensure that system alarms are dealt with in a timely manner, and to ensure that alarms generated through testing or commissioning are not incorrectly passed out. Maintain a forward schedule of configuration change. Provide timely response to operational issues, performing onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution problems. Ensure adherence to department information security policies. Participate in a standby rota to ensure the availability of OT services 24 x 7
What we are looking for from you:
5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English, minimum Grade C) A Level or BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline ITIL foundation certificate in IT Service Management Ability to complete UK Government Security Clearance (SC) process successfully Operational/industrial technology experience, in a medium/large organisation Experience using Microsoft Office, Access and SQL Server Understanding of relational databases Familiarity of ITIL or COBIT
