iCOMAT is recruiting for an ambitious operations director to oversee iCOMAT’s operations in the UK, with particular emphasis on the day-to-day operations of our Gloucester factory.
What will you be doing?
- Manage the day-to-day Operations of iCOMAT, with particular emphasis on factory management and production, establishing Company policies and processes
- Ensure compliance to procedures, laws and regulations and promote an efficient and safe working environment
- Ensure customer satisfaction and expectations are upheld.
- Lead, develop and grow the operations and factory production teams to establish a best-in-class unit.
- Define the long-term vision for Operations and translate it into a tangible action plan, with overall accountability for process management, performance monitoring and optimal resource allocation.
- Oversee procurement processes, material and resource allocation, employing an analytical approach to cost management and identifying significant areas for cost reduction.
- Create operational strategies to minimise stock losses, improve yield and reduce hours to reduce company costs and increasing employee productivity
- Ensure all equipment is run in a safe manner and maintained in line with the manufacture’s guidelines, certifying full training has been provided to all operators.
- Utilise software solutions to streamline business processes, reduce administrative tasks, monitor and provide analytical data for performance improvement.
- Collaborate with the broader leadership team to ensure the operational functions meets the business requirements and develop long-term solutions aligned with the commercial agenda.
- Foster a culture of strong people engagement within the operational team, holding individuals accountable while promoting a supportive environment.
What do we need from you?
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior operations management role with a proven track record of operational excellence.
- Background working within fast paced manufacturing environments; world-class advanced manufacturing highly desirable.
- A strong background in composites and components manufacturing is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience in driving change management in a fast-paced environment and comfortable making tough decisions while upholding a strong set of behaviours and values.
- Tenacious and focused, while also having the ability to envision long-term goals and not resorting to shortcuts in achieving overall objectives.
- Capable of successfully transitioning from the “factory floor” to the boardroom, demonstrating good commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to wider business initiatives.
